Freshman Year
· Take a whole range of different classes to find which genres I like/dislike
· Write down old jobs I had and what I like/didn’t like about them
· Make a list of what I want in my future life as far as how much I want to be gone from my kids, how financially stable I want to be, etc..
· Go see a guidance counselor at school to help me decide which classes I should take while deciding on a major
· Start talking to people about different career and jobs they are in and ask them pros and cons for them
· Attend at least one career/job fair
First Summer
· Keep taking under graduate classes
· Attend another job/career fair
· Talk to more people about their experience in their job
Sophomore year
· Take a few harder classes in subjects that I may have found to enjoy
· See an advisor at school to discuss any new likes/dislikes in classes I have discovered
· Keep familiarizing myself in different jobs and careers I would have maybe not been interested in
· Keep adding to my list of things I want in my future for my family
· Talk to other working moms and get tips and advice on how to raise a family while also providing for them
· Start shadowing people in different careers and keep a journal of my experiences and what I thought about that specific career and if I could see myself doing it
Second Summer
· Continue to take classes
Junior Year
· Start the Dental Hygiene program
· Keep plugging away at getting good grades in my classes
· Continue to shadow fellow people in the workforce
· Ask other students in my classes on what major they are choosing and why
· Continue to write in my journal of jobs I have shadowed and write down my experiences with them
· If deciding on graduate school, start researching where they are and what I need to be doing to be considered to go there
· Talk to fellow classmates who have the same major as me to see if they have any pointers to help me get all I need to get accomplished before graduation
· Look into possible internships for the summer
Third Summer
· Keep taking classes to help quicken graduation process
· If found an internship that works with my life, do it
Senior Year
· Go to career center to get all the help I need for this last year
· Finish up a resume
· Line up some interviews either with graduate schools or jobs so I can be ready for either as soon as I get my diploma
· Participate in on campus interviews to help me be more comfortable when the time for real interviews come around
· Meet up with Alumni that have graduated in my same field to get advice on what to expect once graduated
· Continue to visit professional s in the work environment
· Keep getting good grades
Summer After Graduation
· Congratulate myself with a trip to Europe for having achieved the goal I have long been striving toward!!
